Accidents do happen
Yes they do. I got a stab wound on my left palm. How did it happen? Here's how. After that renal colic the other night, I searched and learned about foods that are beneficial to kidneys because of their magnesium content. And one of these is "Oysters". I also read that garlic is good for sore throat and infections. I was also having a sore throat. So, hubby and I went all the way to Bacoor to buy oysters. And to shoot two birds with one stone, I made a dip of vinegar with lots of minced garlic and onion. I was so desperate with my aching throat. I would try anything. It was going on for days. I took erythromycin already but it still hurts. Well, it may have gotten dry because I was mouth- breathing when I had congested nose. So...back to the oysters. My husband got a cut from the shell when he was cleaning them. I asked him to clean the cut and put some medication and I resumed the shell cleaning. We were now in the process of opening the shells (after cleaning them and pouring them with boiling water). I was using a knife to force open the shell. The knife slipped and went directly to my palm. It was about half an inch deep. My finger adjacent to the cut got numb at once. I thought I cut a nerve and cut the circulation to the finger. Hubby wanted to take me to the hospital. But I refused. My son cleaned it with betadine and covered it with gauze. I took a pain killer and went to bed.
